The AVN Awards are the equivalent of the Oscars of Porn and the French who have been titled are few. Among these, Jean Val Jean and David Perry who received it 2 years in a row, in 2007 and 2008, enough to definitively place the France on the map of global porn. Not totally at the same level as manuel Ferrara's 6 AVNs for best actor but still very respectable.
HPG, whose real name is Hervé Pierre Gustave, is one of the big names in porn in the 2000s. First a stripper, he became a porn actor in 1990 and was the first to popularize gonzo, this porn without a scenario, in France. Also present in Baise Moi, he has also written a few books and participated in mainstream documentaries that have helped to demystify French porn to the general public.
